The Lord watches over new arrivals. He will support the orphan and the widow. And he will destroy the ways of sinners.


Will not Zion say that this man and that man were born in her? And the Most High himself has founded her.


And he said to him: "Why do you question me about what is good? One is good: God. But if you wish to enter into life, observe the commandments."


And when he had departed on the way, a certain one, running up and kneeling before him, asked him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do, so that I may secure eternal life?"


You know the precepts: "Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not speak false testimony. Do not deceive. Honor your father and mother."


Then Jesus said to him: "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.


All have gone astray; together they have become useless. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.


Every excellent gift and every perfect gift is from above, descending from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor any shadow of alteration.


And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love. And he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him.


Whoever does not love, does not know God. For God is love.


Nothing is holy as the Lord is holy. For there is no other beside you. And nothing is strong as our God is strong.
