And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the king's treasures, and carried all off: as also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.


And Joiada the high priest took a chest and bored a hole in the top, and set it by the altar at the right hand of them that came into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the doors put therein all the money that was brought to the temple of the Lord.


And he brought out from thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house. And he cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, according to the word of the Lord.


And all the vessels of the house of the Lord, great and small, and the treasures of the temple and of the king and of the princes he carried away to Babylon.


And we set over the storehouses Selemias the priest, and Sadoc the scribe, and of the Levites Phadaia; and next to them Hanan the son of Zachur, the son of Mathania. For they were approved as faithful; and to them were committed the portions of their brethren.


But the chief priests having taken the pieces of silver, said: It is not lawful to put them into the corbona, because it is the price of blood.


Who devour the houses of widows, feigning long prayer. These shall receive greater damnation.


These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, teaching in the temple: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.


But whatsoever gold or silver there shall be, or vessels of brass and iron, let it be consecrated to the Lord, laid up in his treasures.


But they burned the city, and all things that were therein; except the gold and silver, and vessels of brass and iron, which they consecrated into the treasury of the Lord.
