The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say:


And the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and shall come into Sion with praise: and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness: and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.


Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I will hear him, and I will make him flourish like a green fir tree: from me is thy fruit found.


For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.


Because this my son was dead, and is come to life again: was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.


But he said to him: Son, thou art always with me, and all I have is thine.


The Son of man is come eating and drinking: and you say: Behold a man that is a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend of publicans and sinners.


For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?


Now we know, that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be made subject to God.


But God is true; and every man a liar, as it is written, That thou mayest be justified in thy words, and mayest overcome when thou art judged.
