And Nabuzardan the commander of the army carried away the rest of the people that remained in the city, and the fugitives that had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the common people.


And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Reblatha in the land of Emath. So Juda was carried away out of their land.


And a breach was made into the city: and all the men of war fled in the night between the two walls by the king's garden (now the Chaldees besieged the city round about). And Sedecias fled by the way that leadeth to the plains of the wilderness.


And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho. And all the warriors that were with him were scattered, and left him.


The cities of the south are shut up, and there is none to open them: all Juda is carried away captive with an entire captivity.


Behold, I will send many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them: and after this, I will send them many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and out of the holes of the rocks.


And I will deliver them up to vexation and affliction, to all the kingdoms of the earth: to be a reproach and a byword and a proverb, and to be a curse in all places to which I have cast them out.


And Nabuzardan the general of the army carried away captive to Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and the fugitives that had gone over to him, and the rest of the people that remained.


But Nabuzardan the general carried away captives some of the poor people and of the rest of the common sort who remained in the city and of the fugitives that were fled over to the king of Babylon and the rest of the multitude.


But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king. And they overtook Sedecias in the desert which is near Jericho: and all his companions were scattered from him.


Teth. Her gates are sunk into the ground: he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more, and her prophets have found no vision from the Lord.


Samech. Depart, you that are defiled, they cried out to them: Depart, get ye hence, touch not: for they quarrelled, and being removed, they said among the Gentiles: He will no more dwell among them.


We were dragged by the necks we were weary and no rest was given us.


A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence and shall be consumed with famine in the midst of thee: and a third part of thee shall fall by the sword round about thee: and a third part of thee will I scatter into every wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.


Thou shalt serve thy enemy, whom the Lord will send upon thee, in hunger, and thirst, and nakedness, and in want of all things. And he shall put an iron yoke upon thy neck, till he consume thee.
