All these came together into the woodland vale, which now is the salt sea.


Bana the son of Ahilud, who governed Thanac and Mageddo, and all Bethsan, which is by Sarthana beneath Jezrael, from Bethsan unto Abelmehula over against Jecmaan.


In the plains of the Jordan did the king cast them in a clay ground, between Socoth and Sartham.


The sorrows of death have encompassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:


The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.


What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth?


This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles.


Let the people, O God, confess to thee: let all the people give praise to thee:


And they spoke ill of God: they said: Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?


But we thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks to thee for ever. We will shew forth thy praise, unto generation and generation.


And when Moses had stretched forth his hand over the sea, the Lord took it away by a strong and burning wind blowing all the night; and turned it into dry ground: and the water was divided.


And the children of Israel went in through the midst of the sea dried up: for the water was as a wall on their right hand and on their left.


But the children of Israel marched through the midst of the sea upon dry land: and the waters were to them as a wall on the right hand and on the left.


And with the blast of thy anger the waters were gathered together. The flowing water stood: the depths were gathered together in the midst of the sea.


Because I came, and there was not a man: I called, and there was none that would hear. Is my hand shortened and become little, that I cannot redeem? Or is there no strength in me to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I will make the sea a desert, I will turn the rivers into dry land: the fishes shall rot for want of water and shall die for thirst.


And he said to me: These waters that issue forth toward the hillocks of sand to the east, and go down to the plains of the desert, shall go into the sea, and shall go out, and the waters shall be healed.


He rebuketh the sea, and drieth it up: and bringeth all the rivers to be a desert. Basan languisheth and Carmel: and the dower of Libanus fadeth away.


Wast thou angry, O Lord, with the rivers? or was thy wrath upon the rivers? or thy indignation in the sea? Who will ride upon thy horses: and thy chariots are salvation.


The south side shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is by Edom, and shall have the most salt sea for its furthest limits eastward.


These are the words, which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan, in the plain wilderness, over against the Red Sea, between Pharan and Thophel and Laban and Haseroth, where there is very much gold:


And the plain of the wilderness; and the Jordan; and the borders of Cenereth unto the sea of the desert, which is the most salt sea, to the foot of mount Phasga eastward.


And from the wilderness, to the sea of Ceneroth towards the east, and to the sea of the wilderness, which is the most salt sea, on the east side by the way that leadeth to Bethsimoth: and on the south side that lieth under Asedoth, Phasga.


Its beginning was from the top of the most salt sea, and from the bay thereof, that looketh to the south.


And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho: and goeth out to the Jordan.


And when the priests, that carry the ark of the Lord, the God of the whole earth, shall set the soles of their feet in the waters of the Jordan, the waters that are beneath shall run down and go off: and those that come from above, shall stand together upon a heap.


You shall teach them and say: Israel passed over this Jordan through the dry channel.


Now when all the kings of the Amorrhites, who dwelt beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of Chanaan, who possessed the places near the great sea, had heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the children of Israel, till they passed over, their heart failed them: and there remained no spirit in them, fearing the coming in of the children of Israel.


And the three hundred men nevertheless persisted sounding the trumpets. And the Lord sent the sword into all the camp, and they killed one another.
