Now then before all the assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep ye, and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God: that you may possess the good land; and may leave it to your children after you for ever.


And thou, my son Solomon, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart, and a willing mind. For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the thoughts of minds. If thou seek him, thou shalt find him: but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: Hear ye me, Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin: The Lord is with you, because you have been with him. If you seek him, you shall find: but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.


For I was ashamed to ask the king for aid and for horsemen, to defend us from the enemy in the way. Because we had said to the king: The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him in goodness; and his power and strength, and wrath upon all them that forsake him.


And he shall destroy the wicked and the sinners together: and they that have forsaken the Lord shall be consumed:


But they provoked to wrath and afflicted the spirit of his Holy One: and he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.


O Lord, the hope of Israel: all that forsake thee shall be confounded: they that depart from thee shall be written in the earth: because they have forsaken the Lord, the vein of living waters.


But if the just man turn himself away from his justice and do iniquity according to all the abominations which the wicked man useth to work, shall he live? All his justices which he hath done shall not be remembered: in the prevarication by which he hath prevaricated and in his sin which he hath committed, in them he shall die.


And God turned, and gave them up to serve the host of heaven, as it is written in the books of the prophets: Did you offer victims and sacrifices to me for forty years, in the desert, O house of Israel?


If you shall beget sons and grandsons, and abide in the land, and being deceived, make to yourselves any similitude, committing evil before the Lord your God, to provoke him to wrath:


I call this day heaven and earth to witness, that you shall quickly perish out of the land, which, when you have passed over the Jordan, you shall possess. You shall not dwell therein long, but the Lord will destroy you:


But my just man liveth by faith; but if he withdraw himself, he shall not please my soul.


And the people said to Josue: No. It shall not be so as thou sayest, but we will serve the Lord.


But if you will not hearken to the voice of the Lord, but will rebel against his words, the hand of the Lord shall be upon you, and upon your fathers.


But if you will still do wickedly: both you and your king shall perish together.
