And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of the city. And seeing them, he rose up and went to meet them: and worshipped prostrate to the ground,


He pressed them very much to turn in unto him: and when they were come in to his house, he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread: and they ate:


And said to him: Come in, thou blessed of the Lord: why standest thou without? I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels.


And having brought them into the house, he fetched water; and they washed their feet, and he gave provender to their asses.


And David said to Urias: Go into thy house, and wash thy feet. And Urias went out from the king's house; and there went out after him a mess of meat from the king.


The stranger did not stay without, my door was open to the traveller.


Withdraw thy foot from the house of thy neighbour, lest having his fill he hate thee.


I have put off my garment, how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet, how shall I defile them?


And turning to the woman, he said unto Simon: Dost thou see this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet; but she with tears hath washed my feet, and with her hairs hath wiped them.


After that, he putteth water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.


And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying: If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.


And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels.
