He sent them to the prison of the commander of the soldiers, in which Joseph also was prisoner,


So he put them in prison three days.


And a lion cried out: I am upon the watch-tower of the Lord, standing continually by day: and I am upon my ward, standing whole nights.


And they put him into prison, not knowing what they should do with him.


Now when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be to you.


And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said: Peace be to you.


And when he had apprehended him, he cast him into prison, delivering him to four files of soldiers to be kept, intending, after the pasch, to bring him forth to the people.


And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and the bands of all were loosed.


But an angel of the Lord by night opening the doors of the prison, and leading them out, said:


And to the angel of the church of Philadelphia, write: These things saith the Holy One and the true one, he that hath the key of David; he that openeth, and no man shutteth; shutteth, and no man openeth:
