And bringing forth the people thereof, he sawed them, and drove over them chariots armed with iron: and divided them with knives, and made them pass through brick-kilns. So did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David returned, with all the army to Jerusalem.


And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and Syria served David under tribute. And the Lord preserved David in all his enterprises, whithersoever he went.


And Solomon had under him all the kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, even to the border of Egypt: and they brought him presents, and served him, all the days of his life.


And Moab rebelled against Israel, after the death of Achab.

And he defeated Moab: and the Moabites were made David's servants, and brought him gifts.

And David departed from thence into Maspha of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab: Let my father and my mother tarry with you, I beseech thee, till I know what God will do for me.


And he left them under the eyes of the king of Moab: and they abode with him all the days that David was in the hold.
