On that day they offered great sacrifices and rejoiced because God had given them great joy.  The women and children also celebrated, and Jerusalem’s rejoicing was heard far away.


Cry out and sing, citizen of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel  is among you in his greatness.’


The humble will have joy after joy in the  Lord, and the poor people will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.


It will blossom abundantly and will also rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendour of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the  Lord, the splendour of our God.


this is the word the Lord has spoken against him: Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you; Daughter Jerusalem shakes her head behind your back.


‘Comfort, comfort my people,’ says your God.


Zion, herald of good news, go up on a high mountain. Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly. Raise it, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, ‘Here is your God! ’


And the ransomed of the  Lord will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee.


Be joyful, rejoice together, you ruins of Jerusalem! For the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem.


‘Rejoice, childless one, who did not give birth; burst into song and shout, you who have not been in labour! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married woman,’ says the Lord.


Thanksgiving will come out of them, a sound of rejoicing. I will multiply them, and they will not decrease; I will honour them, and they will not be insignificant.


Then the young women will rejoice with dancing, while young and old men rejoice together. I will turn their mourning into joy, give them consolation, and bring happiness out of grief.


a sound of joy and gladness, the voice of the groom and the bride,  and the voice of those saying, Give thanks to the Lord of Armies, for the Lord is good; his faithful love endures for ever as they bring thanksgiving sacrifices to the temple of the Lord. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as in former times, says the Lord.


Children of Zion,  rejoice and be glad in the Lord your God, because he gives you the autumn rain for your vindication.  , He sends showers for you, both autumn and spring rain  as before.


And you, watchtower for the flock, fortified hill  of Daughter Zion, the former rule  will come to you; sovereignty will come to Daughter Jerusalem.


Then the crowds who went ahead of him and those who followed shouted: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!
