I will open rivers on the barren heights, and springs in the middle of the plains. I will turn the desert into a pool and dry land into springs.


If only you had paid attention to my commands. Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.


For this is what the Lord says: I will make peace flow to her like a river, and the wealth  of nations like a flood; you will nurse and be carried on her hip and bounced on her lap.


Lord, the hope of Israel, all who abandon you will be put to shame. All who turn away from me will be written in the dirt, for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water.


For my people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves #– # cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.


On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem,  half of it towards the eastern sea  and the other half towards the western sea,  in summer and winter alike.


If God is glorified in him,   God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once.


‘When the Counsellor   comes, the one I will send to you from the Father   #– #the Spirit of truth   who proceeds from the Father #– #he will testify about me.


But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again.   In fact, the water I will give him will become a well   , of water springing up in him for eternal life.’


Therefore, since he has been exalted to the right hand of God  and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit,  he has poured out  what you both see and hear.


The revelation of  Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his servants  what must soon take place.  He made it known by sending his angel  to his servant John,


arrayed with God’s glory.  Her radiance was like a precious jewel, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.


Then he said to me, ‘It is done!  I am the Alpha and the Omega,  the beginning and the end.  I will freely give to the thirsty  from the spring of the water of life.


Then one of the seven angels, who had held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues,  came and spoke with me: ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’


Both the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come! ’ Let anyone who hears, say, ‘Come! ’ Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely.


Then he said to me, ‘These words are faithful  and true.  The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets,  has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.’


‘To the one who conquers I will give the right to sit with me on my throne,   just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.


I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth,  on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honour and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, for ever and ever!


Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb  standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God  sent into all the earth.


For the Lamb who is at the centre of the throne will shepherd them; he will guide them to springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
