After these events, the word of the Lord came  to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid,  Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.


As the sun was setting, a deep sleep  came over Abram, and suddenly great terror and darkness descended on him.


So Micaiah said: I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘They have no master; let everyone return home in peace.’


The appearance of the brilliant light all around was like that of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day.  This was the appearance of the likeness of the Lord’s glory.  When I saw it, I fell face down and heard a voice speaking.


he said: ‘Listen to what I say: If there is a prophet among you from the  Lord, I make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.


God came to Balaam at night and said to him, ‘Since these men have come to summon you, get up and go with them, but you must only do what I tell you.’


Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the path with a drawn sword in his hand. Balaam knelt low and bowed with his face to the ground.


Then he proclaimed his poem: The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eyes are opened;


How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwellings, Israel.


He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing something, he fell into a trance.


While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him, ‘Three men are here looking for you.
