He bent the heavens and came down, total darkness beneath his feet.


They refused to listen and did not remember your wonders which you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt.  , But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love, and you did not abandon them.


if I sin, you would notice, and would not acquit me of my iniquity.


Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind.  He said:


God is wise  and all-powerful. Who has opposed him and come out unharmed?


A pronouncement  concerning Egypt: Look, the Lord rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. Egypt’s worthless idols will tremble before him, and Egypt will lose heart.


you will be punished by the  Lord of Armies with thunder, earthquake, and loud noise, storm, tempest, and a flame of consuming fire.


Look, the Lord will come with fire   – his chariots are like the whirlwind   – to execute his anger with fury and his rebuke with flames of fire.


Look, he advances like clouds; his chariots are like a storm. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!


I continued watching in the night visions, and suddenly one like a son of man was coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.


Indeed, they sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. There is no standing corn; what sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it did, foreigners would swallow it up.


Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the  Lord your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and he relents from sending disaster.


He prayed to the Lord,  ‘Please, Lord, isn’t this what I said while I was still in my own country? That’s why I fled towards Tarshish in the first place.  I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God,  slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and one who relents from sending disaster.


Then the Lord will appear over them, and his arrow will fly like lightning. The Lord God will sound the ram’s horn and advance with the southern storms.


The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love,  forgiving iniquity and rebellion.  But he will not leave the guilty unpunished,  bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generation.


‘You have said it,’ Jesus told him. ‘But I tell you, in the future   you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.’   ,


My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger,


Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. And all the tribes   of the earth   , will mourn over him.   ,, So it is to be. Amen.
