Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul;   rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.


‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus said to him, ‘tonight, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.’


After a little while those standing there approached and said to Peter, ‘You really are one of them, since even your accent  gives you away.’


and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken, ‘Before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.’   And he went outside and wept bitterly.


All the people answered, ‘His blood be on us  and on our children! ’


‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus said to him, ‘today, this very night, before the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times.’


But he denied it: ‘I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about.’ Then he went out to the entrance,  and a cock crowed.


But Peter said, ‘Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about! ’ Immediately, while he was still speaking, a cock crowed.


Peter denied it again. Immediately a cock crowed.


For I could wish  that I myself were cursed  and cut off  from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood.


If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!


As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline.   So be zealous and repent.


He said to his mother, ‘The 1,100 pieces of silver taken from you, and that I heard you place a curse on #– #here’s the silver. I took it.’ Then his mother said, ‘My son, may you be blessed by the Lord! ’
