My sister, my bride, you are a locked garden – a locked garden  and a sealed spring.


Stretching out his hand towards his disciples,  he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers!


On that day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting by the sea.


While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered  them, and a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him! ’


‘And the King will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”


‘Then he will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”


Then Jesus told them, ‘Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.’


Whoever does the will of God   is my brother and sister and mother.’


But he replied to them, ‘My mother and my brothers are those who hear and do the word of God.’


You are my friends if you do what I command you.


‘Don’t cling to me,’ Jesus told her, ‘since I have not yet ascended   to the Father.   But go to my brothers   and tell them that I am ascending to my Father   and your Father, to my God   and your God.’


Jesus replied, ‘This is the work   of God #– #that you believe in the one he has sent.’


For this is the will of my Father:   that everyone who sees the Son   and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise   him up on the last day.’


‘Therefore, having overlooked  the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,


Instead, I preached to those in Damascus first, and to those in Jerusalem and in all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance.


For those he foreknew he also predestined  to be conformed to the image of his Son,  so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.


Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a believing wife  like the other apostles,  the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?


For I am jealous  for you with a godly jealousy,  because I have promised you in marriage to one husband #– #to present a pure  virgin to Christ.


For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith  working through love.


For  both circumcision and uncircumcision  mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation.


In Christ there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.

After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

And the world with its lust is passing away,  but the one who does the will of God  remains for ever.


‘Blessed   are those who wash their robes,   so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates.
