A pronouncement  concerning the Valley of Vision: What’s the matter with you? Why have all of you gone up to the rooftops?


A man on the housetop   must not come down to get things out of his house,


Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in an ear in private rooms   will be proclaimed on the housetops.


So he said, ‘The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you   to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that Looking they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.   ,


‘I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.


When the Spirit of truth   comes, he will guide you into all the truth.   For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.


‘I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. A time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.


His disciples said, ‘Look, now you’re speaking plainly and not using any figurative language.


So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with those who worshipped God, as well as in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.


‘Go and stand in the temple, and tell the people all about this life.’


‘Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name?  Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.’


Since, then, we have such a hope,  we act with great boldness.
