Don’t take a travelling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or staff, for the worker   is worthy of his food.


He also said to them, ‘When I sent you out   without money-bag, travelling bag, or sandals, did you lack anything? ’ ‘Not a thing,’ they said.


For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in me:   And he was counted among the lawless.   , Yes, what is written about me is coming to its fulfilment.’


‘Lord,’ they said, ‘look, here are two swords.’ ‘That is enough! ’ he told them.


Remember the word I spoke to you: “A servant is not greater than his master.”   If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word,   they will also keep yours.


I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.’


In fact, when we were with you, we told you in advance that we were going to experience affliction, and as you know, it happened.


Therefore, since Christ suffered  in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding   #– #because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished  with sin   #– #
