Then he blessed Joseph and said: The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd  all my life to this day,


But Pharaoh asked him, ‘What do you lack here with me for you to want to go back to your own country? ’ ‘Nothing,’ he replied, ‘but please let me leave.’


Don’t carry a money-bag,   travelling bag,   or sandals;   don’t greet anyone along the road.


‘I tell you, Peter,’ he said, ‘the cock will not crow today until   you deny three times that you know me.’


Then he said to them, ‘But now, whoever has a money-bag should take it, and also a travelling bag. And whoever doesn’t have a sword should sell his robe and buy one.


‘Take nothing for the road,’   he told them, ‘no staff,   no travelling bag, no bread, no money; and don’t take an extra shirt.


As it is written: The person who had much did not have too much, and the person who had little did not have too little.   ,


He fed you in the wilderness with manna,  which your ancestors had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end he might cause you to prosper.
