For seven days you must make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. The altar will be especially holy. Whatever touches the altar will be consecrated.


Consecrate them and they will be especially holy. Whatever touches them will be consecrated.


Before they go out to the outer court,  to the people, they must take off the clothes they have been ministering in, leave them in the holy chambers, and dress in other clothes  so that they do not transmit holiness to the people through their clothes.


When any one of them dies and falls on anything it becomes unclean #– #any item of wood, clothing, leather, sackcloth,  or any implement used for work. It is to be rinsed with water and will remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.


Any male among Aaron’s descendants  may eat it. It is a permanent portion  , throughout your generations from the food offerings to the Lord. Anything that touches the offerings will become holy.’


‘Meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it is to be burned. Everyone who is clean may eat any other meat.


If a man is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does it become holy? ’ The priests answered, ‘No.’


They begged him that they might only touch the end of his robe, and as many as touched it were healed.


for she said to herself, ‘If I can just touch his robe, I’ll be made well.’  ,


So then, dear friends, since we have these promises,  let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit,  bringing holiness to completion  in the fear of God.


For consider how much diligence this very thing #– #this grieving as God wills #– #has produced in you: what a desire to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what deep longing, what zeal, what justice! In every way you showed yourselves to be pure  in this matter.
