When Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes.


Tamar put ashes on her head and tore the long-sleeved robe she was wearing. She put her hand on her head  and went away crying out.


Now four men with a skin disease  were at the entrance to the city gate. They said to each other, ‘Why just sit here until we die?


Then Job stood up, tore  his robe, and shaved  his head. He fell to the ground and worshipped,


Therefore, I reject my words and am sorry for them; I am dust and ashes.  ,


Leave, leave, go out from there! Do not touch anything unclean; go out from her, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the  Lord.


Then I said: Woe is me,  for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips, and because my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Armies.


All of us have become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted   garment; all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities  carry us away like the wind.


Let us lie down in our shame; let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the  Lord our God, both we and our ancestors, from the time of our youth even to this day. We have not obeyed the  Lord our God.’


As they heard all these words, the king and all his servants did not become terrified  or tear their clothes.


‘Stay away! Unclean! ’ people shouted at them. ‘Away, away! Don’t touch us! ’ So they wandered aimlessly. It was said among the nations, ‘They can stay here no longer.’


Groan quietly; do not observe mourning rites for the dead.  Put on your turban and strap your sandals on your feet; do not cover your moustache or eat the bread of mourners.’  ,

Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the  Lord your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and he relents from sending disaster.

the man is afflicted with a serious skin disease;  he is unclean. The priest must pronounce him unclean; the infection is on his head.


‘The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained  to wear the clothes, must not dishevel his hair  or tear his clothes.


Then the seers will be ashamed and the diviners disappointed. They will all cover their mouths  , because there will be no answer from God.


‘Command the Israelites to send away anyone from the camp who is afflicted with a skin disease,  anyone who has a discharge,  or anyone who is defiled because of a corpse.


As he entered a village, ten men with leprosy  , met him. They stood at a distance


When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said, ‘Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord! ’
