Let the violence done to me and my family be done to Babylon,’ says the inhabitant of Zion. ‘Let my blood be on the inhabitants of Chaldea,’ says Jerusalem.

My joy has flown away; grief has settled on me. My heart is sick.

So, then, I ask you not to be discouraged  over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory.

They cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lord,  the one who is holy and true,  how long until you judge those who live on the earth and avenge our blood?   ’
