Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you furious?  And why do you look despondent?


So Ahab went to his palace resentful and angry  because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had told him. He had said, ‘I will not give you my ancestors’ inheritance.’ He lay down on his bed, turned his face away,  and didn’t eat any food.


Be careful that no one lures you with riches; do not let a large ransom  lead you astray.


Jonah was greatly displeased and became furious.


And now, Lord, take my life from me,  for it is better for me to die than to live.’


Jonah left the city and found a place east of it.  He made himself a shelter there and sat in its shade to see what would happen to the city.


Then God asked Jonah, ‘Is it right for you to be angry about the plant? ’ ‘Yes, it’s right! ’ he replied. ‘I’m angry enough to die! ’


My people,  what have I done to you, or how have I wearied you? Testify against me!


‘Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land I have given the Israelites, because you both rebelled against my command at the Waters of Meribah.


Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous   because I’m generous? ”   ,
