I will judge you the way adulteresses and those who shed blood are judged.  Then I will bring about the shedding of your blood in jealous wrath.


But righteous men will judge them the way adulteresses  and those who shed blood are judged, for they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.


Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community.


So he assembled all the chief priests and scribes  of the people and asked them where the Messiah would be born.


At dawn he went to the temple  again, and all the people were coming to him.  He sat down  and began to teach them.


‘Teacher,’ they said to him, ‘this woman was caught in the act of committing adultery.


When they heard this, they left one by one, starting with the older men. Only he was left, with the woman in the centre.


They brought the man who used to be blind to the Pharisees.


After they had Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them: ‘By what power or in what name have you done this? ’


So then, if she is married to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she is married to another man, she is not an adulteress.
