Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is my arm too weak to redeem? Or do I have no power to rescue? Look, I dry up the sea by my rebuke; I turn the rivers into a wilderness; their fish rot because of lack of water and die of thirst.

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the  Lord   been revealed?

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds,   and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

I do not call you servants any more, because a servant doesn’t know what his master   , is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father.

‘You are a king then? ’ Pilate asked. ‘You say that I’m a king,’ Jesus replied. ‘I was born for this, and I have come into the world   for this: to testify   to the truth.   Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.’

‘Truly I tell you,   we speak what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you do not accept our testimony.

So they came to John and told him, ‘Rabbi,  the one you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan,  is baptising #– #and everyone is going to him.’

The one who has accepted his testimony has affirmed that God is true.

For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing, and he will show him greater works   than these so that you will be amazed.

‘I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the one who sent me   is true, and what I have heard from him #– #these things I tell the world.’
