She said to Elijah, ‘Man of God,  what do you have against me?  Have you come to call attention to my iniquity  so that my son is put to death? ’


His frame may be full of youthful vigour, but it will lie down with him in dust.


Why is light given to one burdened with grief, and life to those whose existence is bitter,


He doesn’t let me catch my breath but fills me with bitter experiences.


After my return, I felt regret; After I was instructed, I struck my thigh in grief. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’


After this, Jesus found him in the temple  and said to him, ‘See, you are well. Do not sin any more, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.’


One man was there who had been disabled for thirty-eight years.


‘Don’t call me Naomi. Call me Mara,’  she answered, ‘for the Almighty  has made me very bitter.
