So do not claim, ‘We have found wisdom; let God deal with him, not man.’


His pride is in his rows of scales, closely sealed together.


Wealth is not profitable on a day of wrath, but righteousness rescues from death.


No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the  Lord.


Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding;


And who knows whether he will be wise or a fool?  Yet he will take over all my work that I laboured at skilfully under the sun. This too is futile.


Again I saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift,  or the battle to the strong,  or bread to the wise, or riches to the discerning, or favour to the skilful; rather, time and chance happen to all of them.


For he says, ‘Aren’t all my commanders kings?


Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.


You were secure in your wickedness; you said, “No one sees me.” Your wisdom and knowledge led you astray. You said to yourself, “I am, and there is no one else.”


Woe to those who consider themselves wise and judge themselves clever.  ,


No longer will one teach his neighbour or his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,”  for they will all know me, from the least to the greatest of them’   #– #this is the Lord’s declaration. ‘For I will forgive their iniquity  and never again remember their sin.


How can you say, ‘We are warriors – valiant men for battle’?


Because you trust in your works and treasures, you will be captured also. Chemosh  will go into exile with his priests and officials.


Why do you boast about your valleys, your flowing valley, you faithless daughter – you who trust in your treasures and say, ‘Who can attack me? ’


The land of Egypt will be a desolate ruin.  Then they will know that I am the Lord. Because you  said, ‘The Nile is my own; I made it,’


They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will seem like something filthy. Their silver and gold will be unable to save them in the day of the  Lord’s wrath. They will not satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs, for these were the stumbling blocks that brought about their iniquity.


Now if you’re ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music, fall down and worship the statue I made. But if you don’t worship it, you will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire #– #and who is the god who can rescue you from my power? ’


Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and glorify the King of the heavens, because all his works are true and his ways are just.  He is able to humble  those who walk in pride.


Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the  Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.


Their silver and their gold will be unable to rescue them on the day of the  Lord’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of his jealousy, for he will make a complete, yes, a horrifying end of all the inhabitants of the earth.


The disciples were astonished at his words. Again Jesus said to them, ‘Children,   how hard it is   to enter the kingdom of God!


Claiming to be wise, they became fools


in order that, as it is written:  Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.   ,


You may say to yourself, “My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,”


My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings,  being conformed to his death,


More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value  of knowing Christ  Jesus my Lord. Because of him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them as dung, so that I may gain Christ


For the love of money is a root  of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith  and pierced themselves with many griefs.


When the Philistine looked and saw David, he despised him  because he was just a youth, healthy  , and handsome.
