10 Who can I speak to and give such a warning that they will listen? Look, their ear is uncircumcised,  , so they cannot pay attention. See, the word of the  Lord has become contemptible to them – they find no pleasure in it.

But Moses said in the Lord’s presence, ‘If the Israelites will not listen to me, then how will Pharaoh listen to me, since I am such a poor speaker? ’  ,


Though seeing many things,  you pay no attention. Though his ears are open, he does not listen.’


Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the  Lord   been revealed?


‘This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Go, say to the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem, “Will you not accept discipline  by listening to my words? #– #this is the Lord’s declaration.


Circumcise yourselves to the  Lord; remove the foreskin of your hearts, men of Judah and residents of Jerusalem. Otherwise, my wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of your evil deeds.


Hear this, you foolish and senseless   people. They have eyes, but they don’t see. They have ears, but they don’t hear.


Now, because you have done all these things #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #and because I have spoken to you time and time again  but you wouldn’t listen,  and I have called to you, but you wouldn’t answer,


However, my people wouldn’t listen to me or pay attention but became obstinate;  they did more evil than their ancestors.


Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair on their temples.  All these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.” ’


But the house of Israel will not want to listen to you because they do not want to listen to me.  For the whole house of Israel is hard-headed and hard-hearted.


And suppose he sees the sword coming against the land and blows his ram’s horn  to warn the people.


But if you warn a wicked person to turn from his way and he doesn’t turn from it, he will die for his iniquity, but you will have rescued yourself.


Amaziah the priest  of Bethel sent word to King Jeroboam of Israel, saying, ‘Amos has conspired against you  right here in the house of Israel. The land cannot endure all his words,


When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees  coming to his baptism, he said to them, ‘Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?


One of the experts in the law  answered him, ‘Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.’


Then the scribes and the chief priests  looked for a way to get their hands on him  that very hour, because they knew he had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.


The world cannot hate   you, but it does hate me because I testify about it #– #that its works are evil.


Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things and asked him, ‘We aren’t blind too, are we? ’


‘You stiff-necked  people with uncircumcised hearts and ears!  You are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your ancestors did, you do also.


He knelt down and cried out with a loud voice,  ‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them! ’ And after saying this, he fell asleep.


For in my inner self  I delight in God’s law,


Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.


We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.


For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine,  but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear.


By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
