for they will hear of your great name, strong hand,  and outstretched arm, and will come  and pray towards this temple –


You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly they treated our ancestors. You made a name for yourself that endures to this day.


You divided the sea before them, and they crossed through it on dry ground. You hurled their pursuers into the depths like a stone into raging water.


With your faithful love, you will lead the people you have redeemed; you will guide them to your holy dwelling with your strength.


terror  and dread will fall on them. They will be as still  as a stone because of your powerful arm until your people pass by, Lord, until the people whom you purchased  pass by.


Lord, your right hand is glorious in power. Lord, your right hand shattered the enemy.


‘Therefore tell the Israelites: I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from the forced labour of the Egyptians and rescue you from slavery to them. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm  and great acts of judgement.


The Lord will divide  , the Gulf of Suez. He will wave his hand over the Euphrates with his mighty wind and will split it into seven streams, letting people walk through on foot.


This is what the  Lord  says – who makes a way in the sea, and a path through raging water,


who says to the depths of the sea, ‘Be dry,’ and I will dry up your rivers;


Wasn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made the sea-bed into a road for the redeemed to pass over?


Instead of the thorn bush, a cypress will come up, and instead of the briar, a myrtle will come up; this will stand as a monument for the Lord, an everlasting sign that will not be destroyed.


This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt #– #my covenant that they broke even though I am their master’  ,  #– #the Lord’s declaration.


You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt  and still do today, both in Israel and among all mankind. You made a name  for yourself, as is the case today.


You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror.


For the Scripture tells Pharaoh, I raised you up for this reason, so that I may display my power in you and that my name may be proclaimed in the whole earth.   ,


and the water flowing downstream stood still, rising up in a heap that extended as far as  Adam, a city next to Zarethan. The water flowing downstream into the Sea of the Arabah   #– #the Dead Sea #– #was completely cut off, and the people crossed opposite Jericho.
