Then God said, ‘Let us  make man  in  our image, according to our likeness.  They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl  on the earth.’


Come, let’s go down there and confuse their language so that they will not understand one another’s speech.’


After these things God tested Abraham  and said to him, ‘Abraham! ’ ‘Here I am,’ he answered.


But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham! ’ He replied, ‘Here I am.’


The Lord God said, ‘Since the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live for ever.’


When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, so I answered: I’m at your service.


And the Lord said, “Who will entice Ahab to march up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? ”  So one was saying this and another was saying that.


‘I was sought by those who did not ask; I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that did not call on   my name.


When they moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the roar of a huge torrent,  like the voice of the Almighty,  and a sound of tumult like the noise of an army.  When they stopped, they lowered their wings.


The sound of the cherubim’s wings could be heard as far as the outer court; it was like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.


Then he called loudly in my hearing, ‘Come near, executioners of the city, each of you with a destructive weapon in his hand.’


But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course  and the ministry  I received from the Lord Jesus,  to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.


‘He said to me, “Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.”  ’


‘So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.


Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? ’


This grace was given to me #– #the least of all the saints #– #to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches  of Christ,


Then the Lord called Samuel,  and he answered, ‘Here I am.’
