I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who tore out my beard. I did not hide my face from scorn and spitting.


We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished him for  the iniquity  of us all.


for I was like a docile   lamb led to slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plots against me: ‘Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit; let’s cut him off from the land of the living so that his name will no longer be remembered.’


one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering;


But  Jesus kept silent.  The high priest said to him, ‘I charge you under oath  by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.’


But he kept silent and did not answer.  Again the high priest questioned him, ‘Are you the Messiah,  the Son  of the Blessed  One? ’


But Jesus still did not answer, and so Pilate was amazed.


So he kept asking him questions, but Jesus did not answer him.


The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God,  who takes away the sin  of the world!


He went back into the headquarters  and asked Jesus, ‘Where are you from? ’ But Jesus did not give him an answer.


when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges  justly.


Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb  standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God  sent into all the earth.
