18 Look up, and look round. They all gather together; they come to you. As I live’ – this is the  Lord’s declaration – ‘you will wear all your children  as jewellery, and put them on as a bride does.

After Lot had separated from him, the Lord said to Abram, ‘Look from the place where you are. Look north and south, east and west,


and said, ‘By myself I have sworn,’  this is the Lord’s declaration: ‘Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son,


Grandchildren are the crown of the elderly, and the pride of children is their fathers.


By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow  to me, every tongue will swear allegiance.


See, these will come from far away, from the north and from the west,  , and from the land of Sinim.  ,


This is what the Lord God says: Look, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and raise my banner to the peoples. They will bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.


‘Wake up, wake up; put on your strength, Zion! Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer enter you.


‘I deserted you for a brief moment, but I will take you back with abundant compassion.


‘For this is like the days  of Noah to me: when I swore that the water of Noah would never flood the earth again, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.


I rejoice greatly in the  Lord, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.


They will bring all your brothers from all the nations as a gift to the Lord on horses and chariots, in litters, and on mules and camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem,’  says the Lord, ‘just as the Israelites bring an offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.


Can a young woman forget her jewellery or a bride her wedding sash? Yet my people have forgotten me for countless days.


Watch! I am going to bring them from the northern land. I will gather them from remote regions of the earth   – the blind and the lame will be with them, along with those who are pregnant and those about to give birth. They will return here as a great assembly!


I  will kindle a fire in the temples of Egypt’s gods,  and he will burn them and take them captive. He will clean the land of Egypt as a shepherd picks lice off  his clothes,  and he will leave there unscathed.


Tell them, “As I live #– #this is the declaration of the Lord God  #– #I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live.  Repent, repent of your evil ways! Why will you die, house of Israel? ”


Yet as I live and as the whole earth is filled with the Lord’s glory,


‘Don’t you say, “There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest”? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open   your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready   for harvest.


I also saw the holy city,  the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,  prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.


Outside are the dogs,   the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practises falsehood.
