The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me, ‘The one who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,


David took up residence in the stronghold, which he named the city of David. He built it up all the way round from the supporting terraces inward.


Your house and kingdom will endure before me  for ever,  and your throne will be established for ever.” ’


Blessed be the Lord your God! He delighted in you and put you on the throne of Israel,  because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel.  He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.’


Hezekiah did this throughout all Judah. He did what was good and upright and true before the Lord his God.


Loyalty and faithfulness guard a king; through loyalty he maintains his throne.


A king who judges the poor with fairness – his throne will be established for ever.


For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King. He will save us.


Since I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples,


He was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, so that those of every people, nation, and language should serve  him. His dominion is an everlasting   dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.


The kingdom, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the holy ones of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom,  and all rulers will serve and obey him.”


In that day I will restore the fallen shelter  of David: I will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old,


I will make the lame into a remnant, those far removed into a strong nation. Then the Lord will reign over them  in Mount Zion from this time on and for ever.


Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
