On this mountain,  , the Lord of Armies will prepare for all the peoples a feast of choice meat, a feast with aged wine, prime cuts of choice meat,  fine vintage wine.


Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labour.


then you will delight in the  Lord, and I will make you ride over the heights of the land, and let you enjoy the heritage of your father Jacob.’ For the mouth of the  Lord has spoken.


Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Look! My servants will eat, but you will be hungry. Look! My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Look! My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.


‘But tell this people, “This is what the Lord says: Look, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.


‘ “This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Correct your ways and your actions,  and I will allow you to live in this place.


Instead, if you really correct your ways and your actions, if you act justly towards one another,  ,


I will allow you to live in this place, the land I gave to your ancestors  long ago and for ever.


You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied. You will praise the name of the  Lord  your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. My people will never again be put to shame.


Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat, be satisfied, and live securely in the land.


‘If you follow my statutes and faithfully observe my commands,


Your threshing will continue until grape harvest, and the grape harvest will continue until sowing time; you will have plenty of food to eat and live securely in your land.


Then Zerubbabel  son of Shealtiel, the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, and the entire remnant of the people  obeyed the Lord their God and the words of the prophet Haggai, because the Lord their God had sent him. So the people feared the Lord.


‘Now  if you faithfully obey the Lord your God  and are careful to follow all his commands I am giving you today,  the Lord your God will put you far above all the nations of the earth.


After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,
