I wait for your salvation, Lord.


God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name for ever;  this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.


If you respond to my warning,  , then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.


Doing what is righteous and just is more acceptable to the  Lord than sacrifice.


‘Wash yourselves. Cleanse yourselves. Remove your evil deeds from my sight. Stop doing evil.


Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for him are happy.


Return to the one the Israelites have greatly rebelled against.


but those who trust in the  Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.


Isn’t this the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?


I will wait for the  Lord, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob. I will wait for him.


Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.


‘Therefore, house of Israel, I will judge each one of you according to his ways.’  This is the declaration of the Lord God. ‘Repent and turn from all your rebellious acts, so that they will not become a sinful stumbling block to you.


Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unploughed ground. It is time to seek the  Lord until he comes  and sends righteousness on you like the rain.


Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.


Hear the word of the  Lord,  people of Israel, for the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land: There is no truth,  no faithful love, and no knowledge of God  in the land!


Even now – this is the  Lord’s declaration – turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.


Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the  Lord your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and he relents from sending disaster.


He is here: the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, the one who makes the dawn out of darkness and strides on the heights of the earth. The Lord, the God of Armies, is his name.


But let justice flow like water, and righteousness like an unfailing stream.


Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the  Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.


But I will look to the  Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.


For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.


Therefore, wait for me   – this is the  Lord’s declaration – until the day I rise up for plunder. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, in order to pour out my indignation  on them, all my burning anger; for the whole earth will be consumed by the fire of my jealousy.


So tell the people, “This is what the Lord of Armies says: Return to me #– #this is the declaration of the Lord of Armies #– #and I will return to you, says the Lord of Armies.


‘The Lord of Armies says this: “Make fair decisions.  Show faithful love and compassion  to one another.


These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another; make true and sound decisions within your city gates.


Peter replied, ‘Repent  and be baptised,  each of you, in the name  of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.


Instead, I preached to those in Damascus first, and to those in Jerusalem and in all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance.


Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows  in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.


For judgement is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy.  Mercy triumphs over judgement.
