In the beginning  God created the heavens and the earth.  ,


when he set a limit for the sea so that the waters would not violate his command, when he laid out the foundations of the earth.


Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand? Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure or weighed the mountains on a balance and the hills on the scales?


This is what God, the Lord, says – who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it   –


My own hand founded the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summoned them, they stood up together.


But you have forgotten the  Lord, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You are in constant dread all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, who has set himself to destroy. But where is the fury of the oppressor?


Look up to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die like gnats.  , But my salvation will last for ever, and my righteousness will never be shattered.


Yet Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we all are the work of your hands.


Oh, Lord God! You yourself made the heavens and earth  by your great power  and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for you!


A pronouncement: The word of the Lord concerning Israel. A declaration of the  Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him.


When you look to the heavens and see the sun, moon, and stars #– #all the stars in the sky #– #do not be led astray to bow in worship to them and serve them.  The Lord your God has provided them for all people everywhere under heaven.


This expression, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of what can be shaken   #– #that is, created things #– #so that what is not shaken might remain.
