So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph: ‘In my dream there was a vine in front of me.


Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, ‘Pharaoh’s dreams mean the same thing. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do.


If there is an angel  on his side, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what is right for him


When they say to you, ‘Enquire of the mediums and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,’  shouldn’t a people enquire of their God?  Should they enquire of the dead on behalf of the living?


What the king is asking is so difficult that no one can make it known to him except the gods, whose dwelling is not with mortals.’


Daniel answered the king, ‘No wise man, medium, magician, or diviner  is able to make known to the king the mystery he asked about.


But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has let King Nebuchadnezzar know what will happen in the last days.  Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay in bed  were these:


he said to them, ‘I have had a dream and am anxious to understand it.’


The king said to Daniel, ‘Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings,  and a revealer of mysteries,  since you were able to reveal this mystery.’


Finally Daniel, named Belteshazzar  after the name of my god #– #and a spirit of the holy gods is in him   #– #came before me. I told him the dream:


However, I have heard about you that you can give interpretations and solve problems. Therefore, if you can read this inscription and give me its interpretation, you will be clothed in purple, have a gold chain round your neck, and have the third highest position in the kingdom.’


Indeed, the Lord God does nothing without revealing his counsel to his servants the prophets.
