When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he departed, and Abraham returned to his place.


Then he and the men with him ate and drank and spent the night. When they got up in the morning, he said, ‘Send me to my master.’


But he responded to them, ‘Do not delay me, since the Lord has made my journey a success. Send me away so that I may go to my master.’


stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you.  For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring,  and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.


The Lord was standing there beside him,  saying, ‘I am the Lord,  the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your offspring the land on which you are lying.


Look, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will bring you back to this land,  for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.’


I am the God of Bethel, where you poured oil on the stone marker and made a solemn vow to me.  Get up, leave this land, and return to your native land.” ’


Laban got up early in the morning, kissed his grandchildren and daughters, and blessed them. Then Laban left to return home.


By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, co-heirs of the same promise.
