Then Solomon woke up  and realised it had been a dream.  He went to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the Lord’s covenant,  and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings.  Then he held a feast  for all his servants.


For God speaks time and again, but a person may not notice it.


If he passed by me, I wouldn’t see him; if he went by, I wouldn’t recognise him.


Lord, who is like you among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?


When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from the bush, ‘Moses, Moses! ’ ‘Here I am,’ he answered.


‘Do not come closer,’ he said. ‘Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’


You are to regard only the  Lord of Armies as holy. Only he should be feared; only he should be held in awe.


At this I awoke and looked round. My sleep had been most pleasant to me.


he said: ‘Listen to what I say: If there is a prophet among you from the  Lord, I make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.


When Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.  Joshua approached him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies? ’


The commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, ‘Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’  And Joshua did so.
