Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.


Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had let them get out of control, making them a laughing-stock to their enemies.


All who make idols are nothing, and what they treasure benefits no one. Their witnesses do not see or know anything, so they will be put to shame.


Your nakedness will be uncovered, and your disgrace will be exposed. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one.’


‘Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; don’t be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.


Lord, the hope of Israel, all who abandon you will be put to shame. All who turn away from me will be written in the dirt, for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water.


Were they ashamed when they acted so detestably? They weren’t at all ashamed. They can no longer feel humiliation. Therefore, they will fall among the fallen. When I punish them, they will collapse, says the Lord.


Then you will remember your ways  and be ashamed when you  receive your elder and younger sisters. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your covenant.


You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied. You will praise the name of the  Lord  your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. My people will never again be put to shame.


For whoever is ashamed   of me and my words   in this adulterous and sinful   generation,   the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory   of his Father   with the holy   angels.’


For whoever is ashamed of me and my words,   the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory   and that of the Father and the holy angels.


For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame,   ,
