and said, ‘My lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, wash your feet, and spend the night. Then you can get up early and go on your way.’ ‘No,’ they said. ‘We would rather spend the night in the square.’


The child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.


Laban said, ‘Come, you who are blessed by the Lord.  Why are you standing out here? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels.’


So he prepared a banquet for them, and they ate and drank.


One day Elisha went to Shunem.  A prominent woman who lived there persuaded him to eat some food. So whenever he passed by, he stopped there to eat.


You must eat unleavened bread for seven days. On the first day you must remove yeast  from your houses. Whoever eats what is leavened from the first day until the seventh day must be cut off  from Israel.


The people baked the dough they had brought out of Egypt into unleavened loaves, since it had no yeast; for when they were driven  out of Egypt, they could not delay and had not prepared provisions for themselves.


I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s shameless boldness,   he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

So  they gave a dinner for him there; Martha  was serving them, and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with him.


Therefore, let us observe the feast, not with old leaven or with the leaven of malice and evil,  but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.


For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion, that one died for all,  and therefore all died.


Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.


So Gideon went and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread from twenty-two litres  of flour. He placed the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot. He brought them out and offered them to him under the oak.


The woman had a fattened calf at her house, and she quickly slaughtered it.  She also took flour, kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread.
