God remembered Noah,  as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth,  and the water began to subside.


I will remember my covenant  between me and you and all the living creatures: water will never again become a flood to destroy every creature.


After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labour, they cried out,  and their cry for help because of the difficult labour ascended to God.


God heard their groaning, and God remembered  his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.


Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of my people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out  because of their oppressors. I know about their sufferings,


The king of Egypt said to them, ‘Moses and Aaron, why are you causing the people to neglect their work? Get to your labour! ’


In all their suffering, he suffered,  , and the angel of his presence saved them. He redeemed them because of his love and compassion; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.


He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy


He has dealt mercifully with our ancestors and remembered his holy covenant   –
