The Lord said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.


The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your offspring  , I will give this land.’ So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.


Then Abram fell face down and God spoke with him:


‘Lord, God of my master Abraham,’ he prayed, ‘make this happen for me today,  and show kindness to my master Abraham.


and the Lord appeared to him that night and said, ‘I am the God of your father Abraham.  Do not be afraid, for I am with you.  I will bless you and multiply your offspring because of my servant Abraham.’


The Lord was standing there beside him,  saying, ‘I am the Lord,  the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your offspring the land on which you are lying.


He was afraid and said, ‘What an awesome place this is! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.’


If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, certainly now you would have sent me off empty-handed. But God has seen my affliction and my hard work,  and he issued his verdict last night.’


Then Jacob said, ‘God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac,  the Lord who said to me, “Go back to your land and to your family, and I will cause you to prosper,”


At the time for offering the evening sacrifice,  the prophet Elijah approached the altar and said, ‘Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel,  today let it be known  that you are God in Israel and I am your servant, and that at your word I have done all these things.


When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle  and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Suddenly, a voice came to him and said, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah? ’


You saw the oppression of our ancestors in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea.


When they had warned him day after day  and he still would not listen to them, they told Haman in order to see if Mordecai’s actions would be tolerated, since he had told them he was a Jew.


The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.


I will dwell  among the Israelites and be their God.


‘Go and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have paid close attention to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt.


But he added, ‘You cannot see my face, for humans cannot see  me and live.’


‘This will take place,’ he continued, ‘so that they will believe that the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.’


I will give them a heart to know me,  that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God because they will return to me with all their heart.


‘Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days’ #– #the Lord’s declaration. ‘I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.


They will be my people, and I will be their God.


so that they will follow my statutes,  keep my ordinances, and practise them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.


I will bring them back  to live in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.’


When the disciples  heard this, they fell face down and were terrified.


I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?   , He   is not the God of the dead, but of the living.’


And as for the dead being raised #– #haven’t you read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God said to him: I   am the God of Abraham   and the God of Isaac   and the God of Jacob?


Moses even indicated in the passage about the burning bush that the dead are raised, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.   ,


When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said, ‘Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord! ’


I am the God of your ancestors #– #the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.   , Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look.


I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. And now, come, I will send you to Egypt.   ,


Listen, Israel, and be careful to follow them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly, because the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you a land flowing with milk and honey.


But they now desire a better place #– #a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.


The appearance was so terrifying that Moses said, I am trembling with fear.   ,


When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man.  He laid his right hand on me and said, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last,


‘We’re certainly going to die,’ he said to his wife, ‘because we have seen God! ’
