Then Jacob asked him, ‘Please tell me your name.’ But he answered, ‘Why do you ask my name? ’  And he blessed him there.


The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name.


He answered, ‘I will certainly be with you,  and this will be the sign to you that I am the one who sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship  God at this mountain.’


God replied to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.  , This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.’


God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name for ever;  this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.


Tell him: The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you: Let my people go, so that they may worship  me in the wilderness. But so far you have not listened.


Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his hands? Who has bound up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son – if you know?


Therefore my people will know my name; therefore they will know on that day that I am he who says, “Here I am.” ’


Therefore, the Lord himself will give you  a sign: See, the virgin will conceive,  have a son, and name him Immanuel.  ,


For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counsellor,  Mighty God, Eternal Father,  Prince of Peace.


In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. This is the name he will be called: The Lord Is Our Righteousness.  ,


She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus,  because he will save his people from their sins.’


See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which is translated ‘God is with us.’


The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors,  has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate,  though he had decided to release him.


Then Manoah said to him, ‘What is your name, so that we may honour you when your words come true? ’


Then the woman went and told her husband, ‘A man of God came to me. He looked like the awe-inspiring angel of God. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.
