Make them linen undergarments  to cover their naked bodies; they must extend from the waist to the thighs.


These must be worn by Aaron and his sons whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary area, so that they do not incur guilt  and die. This is to be a permanent statute  for Aaron and for his future descendants.


Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Better to approach in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do,  for they ignorantly do wrong.


The ledge is 7.4 metres  long by 7.4 metres wide, with four equal sides.  The rim all round it is 27 centimetres,  and its gutter is 53 centimetres all round it. The altar’s steps face east.’


Moses said to Aaron, ‘This is what the Lord has spoken: I will demonstrate my holiness  , to those who are near me, and I will reveal my glory  , before all the people.’ And Aaron remained silent.
