The king commanded all the people, ‘Observe the Passover of the Lord your God as written in the book of the covenant.’


All of the priests and Levites were ceremonially clean, because they had purified themselves. They killed the Passover lamb for themselves, their priestly brothers, and all the exiles.


Here is how you must eat it: You must be dressed for travel,  your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in a hurry; it is the Lord’s Passover.


Do not eat anything leavened; eat unleavened bread in all your homes.’


Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month they must each select an animal of the flock according to their fathers’ families, one animal per family.


The Lord answered Moses, ‘Go on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you. Take the staff you struck the Nile with in your hand and go.


After Moses came back, he summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him.


‘Go and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have paid close attention to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt.


The Lord answered Moses, ‘Bring me seventy men from Israel known to you as elders and officers of the people. Take them to the tent of meeting and make them stand there with you.


and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock  that followed them, and that rock was Christ.


By faith he instituted the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch the Israelites.


While the Israelites camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they observed the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month.
