Jacob said to Pharaoh, ‘My pilgrimage  has lasted for 130 years. My years have been few and hard,  and they have not reached the years of my ancestors during their pilgrimages.’


A patient person shows great understanding, but a quick-tempered one promotes foolishness.


My son, fear the  Lord, as well as the king, and don’t associate with rebels,


a strutting cockerel;  a goat; and a king at the head of his army.


If the ruler’s anger rises against you, don’t leave your post, for calmness puts great offences to rest.


Because I know that you are stubborn, and your neck is iron and your forehead bronze,


All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and he does what he wants  with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can block his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done? ’


Because of the greatness he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages  were terrified and fearful of him. He killed anyone he wanted and kept alive anyone he wanted; he exalted anyone he wanted and humbled anyone he wanted.
