10 In such circumstances, I saw the wicked buried. They came and went from the holy place,  and they were praised  in the city where they did those things. This too is futile.

Are they like straw before the wind, like chaff  a storm sweeps away?


The remembrance of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.


There is no remembrance of those who   came before; and of those who will come after there will also be no remembrance by those who follow them.


For, just like the fool, there is no lasting remembrance of the wise,  since in the days to come both will be forgotten. How is it that the wise person dies just like the fool?


Now a poor wise man was found in the city,  and he delivered the city by his wisdom.  Yet no one remembered that poor man.


For the living know that they will die, but the dead don’t know anything. There is no longer a reward for them because the memory of them is forgotten.


Lord, the hope of Israel, all who abandon you will be put to shame. All who turn away from me will be written in the dirt, for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water.


One day the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s side.   , The rich man also died and was buried.


They also presented false witnesses who said, ‘This man never stops speaking against this holy place and the law.


But my righteous one   will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure   in him.   ,
