Kindness to the poor is a loan to the  Lord, and he will give a reward to the lender.  ,


‘If your brother becomes destitute and cannot sustain himself among  you, you are to support him as a foreigner or temporary resident, so that he can continue to live among you.


Give to the one who asks you, and don’t turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.


And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you?   Even sinners lend to sinners, to be repaid in full.


They asked only that we would remember the poor,  which I had made every effort to do.
