I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.


Therefore I will give him  the many as a portion, and he will receive  the mighty as spoil, because he willingly submitted to death, and was counted among the rebels; yet he bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels.


How can someone enter a strong man’s house and steal his possessions unless he first ties up   the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.


He said to them, ‘I watched Satan   fall from heaven like lightning.


But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers   him, he takes from him all his weapons   , he trusted   in, and divides up his plunder.


and about judgement,   because the ruler of this world   has been judged.


When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished.’   Then bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.


Then comes the end,  when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father,  when he abolishes all rule and all authority and power.


But thanks be to God,  who always leads us in Christ’s triumphal procession and through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of him in every place.


In their case, the god of this age  has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,  , who is the image of God.


This is so that God’s multi-faceted wisdom  may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.


For it says: When he ascended   on high, he took the captives captive; he gave gifts to people.   ,


For our struggle is not against flesh  and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil,  spiritual forces in the heavens.


For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through him and for him.


and you have been filled by him, who is the head  over every ruler and authority.


Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death #– #that is, the devil   #– #


So the great dragon was thrown out #– #the ancient serpent,  who is called the devil and Satan,  the one who deceives the whole world.  He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.


The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet are,  and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
