If only you would tear the heavens open and come down, so that mountains would quake at your presence   –


How long will the land mourn and the grass of every field wither? Because of the evil of its residents, animals and birds have been swept away, for the people have said, ‘He cannot see what our end will be.’  ,


For this reason the land mourns, and everyone who lives in it languishes, along with the wild animals  and the birds of the sky; even the fish of the sea disappear.


Because of this, won’t the land quake and all who dwell in it mourn? All of it will rise like the Nile; it will surge and then subside like the Nile in Egypt.


The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt; the earth trembles  , at his presence – the world and all who live in it.


Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his burning anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; even rocks are shattered before him.


The mountains see you and shudder; a downpour of water sweeps by. The deep roars with its voice and lifts its waves   high.


The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.’


Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.
